QWhat is the Durabuild Panel ?

A. The Durabuild panel is the core component of our modular wall system that is essentially permanent formwork which is erected on site and filled with concrete. MgO or  Fibre-cement sheets form the outer skins of the panels providing a straight, easy to finish surface.

Q. What are the uses of the Durabuild panel ?

A. Durabuild panels can be used for external and internal walls, either load or non-load bearing, replacing brickwork, blockwork, timber or steel frame construction.

Q. Can the Durabuild panel be used for multi-storey structures?

A. Structures up to 5 storeys can be easily constructed with single layer reinforcement. Any structure above 5 storeys can be constructed using the conventional column and beam method with the Durabuild panel used as an in-fill.

Q. Can load bearing capacity be increased ?

A.  Load capacity can be increased where necessary by inserting  deformed steel reinforcing bars into the wall cavities. Your Structural Engineer will determine the schedule based on the local regulations and conditions including typhoons and earthquakes.

Q. Who can use the Durabuild System ?

A. Durabuild modular wall systems can be used by anyone with building experience. Durabuild Systems provides the necessary training and support required for the proper erection of the Durabuild panel walls.

Q. What are the dimensions of the wall panels ?

A. Standard dimensions for a Durabuild modular wall panel are either 90mm or 112mm thick, 1220mm wide with lengths of 2400mm, 2700mm and 3000mm. Durabuild Panels can easily be cut to size on site to suit most designs if required.

Q. What about window and door openings ?

A. Window and door openings can be planned to suit the modular size of the panels or alternatively can be cut out on site to suit the design.

Q. What finishes are recommended ?

A. The fibre-cement sheets provide a smooth surface requiring minimal finishing and is ideal for most finishes or cladding. A texture finish is recommended for external walls and a flat or low sheen acrylic finish for internal walls. All finishes should be applied to manufacturer's specifications.
